Promthep Cape

Promthep Cape (Laem Phromthep) is a scenic viewpoint near the southernmost point of Phuket. It is famous for the gorgeous sea views during sunset. Ones can enjoy this area both by land or sea.

Old Phuket Town

An old town in the heart of Phuket with a rich history. The main central street is Thalang Road, which occasionally held a street market. The mix between traditional architecture, modern arts, and venue makes Old Town Phuket a lively area worth a visit.

Leatherback Sea Turtle

The leatherback sea turtle is the largest of all living turtles and the heaviest non-crocodile reptile. At full size, it can grow up to 1.80 meters and weights up to 500 kilograms. They can be found globally from Alaska to New Zealand, from tropical oceans to Arctic Circle. Recent estimates suggested that there are around 43,000 female nests in the entire world.

The turtles subsist almost entirely on jellyfish which helps control the jellyfish population. Sometimes they mistake plastic bags for jellyfish and that poses as a potential danger for the species.

Leatherback sea turtle nesting sites in Thailand are native to Phuket and Phang Nga provinces. This is why the 12th TSME-ICoME organizers have chosen this local mascot as our conference souvenirs for our guests to bring home memorable experiences during your stay.
